Printed Vs. Online (an understanding)
There never has been and I assume never will be a "defined
comparison" between the knowledge we take up from the internet and any
printed form.
I had been thinking that the value or use of a "printed"
readable material will be lost every soon as we see everything becoming
"online" very fast. But all of a sudden one day, lecturing my
student on building their visual database in their own brain ... I said,
"the reason I am telling you to go to a secondhand book shop and collect
visually enriched books is that, there are loads of distractions in doing an
online research, while on a printed form you are restricted to that particular
view."
That! was the time when I myself realized the same. If I can use
my imagination (in some places that is) and draw out something, is because
while growing up our main resource was the "printed form".
