There are some things in life which makes a life worth
admiring, it enlightens a normal day to day life that we live in; that we are
just passing by. It transforms us, encourages us and it never changes; yet it
always inspires you. For me as I can say, “these are a few of my favourite things” … these are a friendship that started off just with a smile or a hello
that can last you a life-time and a discovery of another living dimension away
of mine.
Today, with friends I walked into the ever mesmerizing
streets of Rawalpindi City; I have walked these street before, but every trip,
every step, every smell brings a new twist to the walk. It breaks me away from
my self-created comfort zone, and makes me feel like a minute part of their
world. The comfort you find in the early morning in these streets tells you its
own story. In these whispering stories … lies secrets of love affairs, family
compassion and growing, trading and livelihood, owning and the pain of letting go
of all this. The buildings have standing there since 100 of years and some even
more and they carry the countless period’s architectural influences with them. This
point many a times becomes the topic of disagreement among people.
Well, we all are every well aware of the previous and the present
owners of the Rawalpindi City, but the streets and the buildings have their own
tales to whisper to us. Things, sounds, smells and even people become invisible
to us when we view or interact with them on daily basis. A routine should be
broken in order to realize beyond our self-created comfort zone or a persona.
This was the starting point of the trip there are more to come
